Hi Ann,
Our practice does the same thing, for every ultrasound we also consult. Or I guess you could say it the other way around, for every consult there is an ultrasound.
We begin at 8:30 AM and have a patient every half an hour until 12. Break from 12:30 to 1:30, then have a patient every half an hour until 4, so we finish at 4:30. We are templated for 12, but have two double book spots, so most days it is 13-14. Some days it hits 16 because of add-ons and those days its hard to catch your breath. I couldn't sustain those days for very long.
While we are in the office we are not responsible (generally) for rounding on the inpatients or reading ultrasounds that are performed in the remote OB offices. We have one partner assigned to the inpatient rounds and the remote reads for that day.

Subject: Physician Volumes
Hello,
We recently updated our Epic ultrasound scheduling templates. Currently, our physicians evaluate, meet with, and document on every patient with the exception of fluids unless a problem is seen during the ultrasound. This can be exhausting and lead to burn out if volumes are not monitored. I am interested in seeing how many patients other MFM's are seeing on a daily basis. Do any of you have offices that have similar workflows, if so, how many patients do your physicians see per day?
