Hi! Second question of the day- if a patient had a 6 week dating sonogram and comes back at 9 weeks w bleeding for another scan, do you bill 76815 bc the 801 was already done? Thank you!

Hi Diana,

I recommend billing 76815 since you are only checking for viability and looking at the bleed/placenta. In certain situations, re-evaluation of the embryo and maternal anatomy is necessary, then 76801, rather than 76815, may be billed.
