  • 1.  delivery data capture for out of hospital births

    ​Hi -

    We are working on standardizing data documentation for deliveries, and we have found that we often have incomplete data for deliveries that have occur out of the hospital - eg at a local birth center & transferred for a retained placenta. Similarly, there are people who deliver in the field and are admitted for postpartum care.

    How do your centers handle documentation when the baby was born before arrival but procedures were performed after admission?

    I hope we can all answer your question here.  What data are you specifically referring to?  Prenatal labs?  Other prenatal records?  Are you thinking about this at a clinical administrative level or for a database?
