    Good Afternoon,
I wanted to reach out to see what other practices were doing as far as allowing any visitors to accompany the patient at their visits. Ours currently is no visitors since COVID, however the hospital that we are on campus with is now allowing 1 care partner to visit. We are attached to the hospital and the patients seem to be calling requesting a visitor at their appt with us.
Would like to hear your thoughts and current practices around this area.
    Thanks so much!

Our office is currently allowing only 1 adult visitor with the patient and only in the ultrasound area, not in areas for antepartum testing.   The visitor and patient are both screened, sign forms on screening, and have to wear surgical masks provided by our center.

    Hi there,

We, as many others, are dealing with the same, I feel your pain.

I addressed allowing visitors back into the office with my staff a few weeks and got shot down.  They are not comfortable with another person in the room who may or may not keep their mask on and our exam rooms aren't large enough to provide adequate distance between the visitor and sonographer.  Patients have been understandably upset about this but we allow FaceTime or Skype during the scan and physician visit so that helps.

We are in Florida with an abundance of anti-maskers and mediocre state leadership so our cases are unfortunately rising.  Our county leadership has been great and has a mask ordinance but enforcing it becomes tiring.  Hence, I don't anticipate being able to allow visitors back from some time because of this.

In line with out hospital policy, I allow 1 visitor in office with the patient. Of course masks required, schedule is staggered, etc. Found that most patients, however, come without a visitor nowadays. We encourage FaceTime and even larger Zoom attendance for family or others who like to be part of the appointment. We do not allow recording however, unless prior written consent by all parties.
