I am not aware that payers necessarily limit the frequency of HgbA1C testing though some may do so. ACOG does suggest now checking monthly so an appeal would likely be successful if any particular payer denies the claim if you are following the guideline. SMFM can also help if this surfaces as a problem with multiple payers.

i read in the ACOG PB that we might order HbA1c during pregnancy for pregestational diabetes at a frequency of more than 1 every 3 months..
Would that be covered by medical insurances?
