Call for Participation : SMFM Operational Benchmarking Task Force
Greetings SMFM members. We are seeking to create a network of MFM practices of all types (private, university based, hospital based, etc.) and sizes that are interested in and able to provide in an on-going manner reliable operational data from your clinics. The goal of the network is to establish representative benchmarks for a wide range of operational parameters such as staffing ratios, ultrasound thr...oughput, scheduling practices, work hours, call burden, etc. The task force is seeking individual representatives to serve as a point person for each interested practice within the soon-to-be established network. While we are anticipating that the results of our future serial surveys will be made available to SMFM members in general, participation within the network will likely grant more robust access to the data sets as they are developed. We hope that this information will assist members to more effectively run their practices, negotiate with payers and adminstration, influence the work-life balance of our care providers, and improve the quality of care that we provide our patients. If you (and your practice) are interested in participating in the benchmarking network, please reach out to me or one of the other members of the initial task force: Brian Iriye, Anthony Sciscione, Andrew Combs, and Manijeh Kamyar. You can also email me directly at tlee@whallc.com.
