    Hello,

I wanted to reach out to this group to see who is utilizing Invitae for their genetic testing.  Also, if you are using them, have you encountered any problems with them?

    Ann,

We use Invitae as our preferred provider for both NIPT and carrier screening.  We haven't had any issues with them to this date.  They give preferred pricing to self-pay patients with $99 for common aneuploidies and SCA/sex prediction, but charge $250 for each additional microdeltion (although we rarely order micro deletions).

Please let me know if there are any other questions.
    Jim

    Hello,

While I don't have real-time information on specific organizations or groups currently using Invitae for genetic testing, I can provide some general insights into the company and its services as of my last knowledge update in January 2022.

Invitae is a well-known genetic testing company that offers a variety of tests covering different medical conditions and inherited disorders. Many healthcare providers, clinics, and individuals utilize Invitae for their genetic testing needs.

However, experiences with any service, including genetic testing providers, can vary among users. Some factors that individuals or organizations might consider include:

    1. Test Offerings: Assess whether Invitae provides the specific genetic tests that meet your needs or the needs of your patients or clients.

    2. Accuracy and Reliability: Check the accuracy and reliability of the test results. It's essential to ensure that the genetic testing service is reputable and follows stringent quality control standards.

    3. Customer Support: Evaluate the quality of customer support provided by Invitae. This includes responsiveness, clarity in communication, and assistance with any concerns or issues.

    4. Turnaround Time: Consider the turnaround time for receiving test results, as this can be crucial in a clinical setting.

    5. Cost and Billing: Understand the cost structure and billing process associated with Invitae's services. This is important for individuals and healthcare organizations managing budgets and insurance claims.

To gather more recent and specific feedback, you may want to reach out to professional networks, healthcare forums, or colleagues who have direct experience with Invitae. Additionally, contacting Invitae directly for any updated information or testimonials could provide insights into their current performance and user satisfaction.

Remember that individual experiences may vary, and it's advisable to consider a range of perspectives when making decisions about role of genetic in children providers.

With the sale of Invitae prenatal testing services to Natera, our hospital has gone with Ambry Labs. They have been quite responsive to our needs around NIPS and carrier screening with the carrier panels going through Baylor.
Cost is similar to Invitae and they will interface with Epic. Downside: no patient portal and for NIPS, if the patient doesn't want to know gender, sex aneuploidies do not get screened.

    Hope this helps.
